ESSAY 28
Some people say that
urgent problems in modern society can only be solved with international
cooperation. To what extent do you agree?
There are many challenges faced by modern society. These
problems are unemployment, social problems, and limited resources.
International efforts can help to resolve some of these issues.
Widespread use of technology brings many positive effects in
various spheres of life. However, human position has also been replaced by
technology in many jobs. The solution to this problem should be considered as a
whole. To give up the jobs which have been done for years will not be an easy
task for anyone. If jobs are lost, poverty will increase, and increasing
poverty is a signal of increasing crime. This is a problem that is closely
related to the uptake of technology policy of a country so that is the
responsibility of a country to use technology wisely.
The use of technology can have a negative impact on social
interactions. Many teens are not able to form a good social relationship with
the surroundings. People preference to chat in the social network rather than
visiting each other means that a chance to build meaningful interactions is
wasted. Eventually, people will feel that they become increasingly disconnected
with their surroundings. This is an underlying cause of stress and depression.
I believe that this problem is closely related to an individual policy in using
technology for social interaction so this is an individual responsibility.
The problem of limited resources, as well as increased
pollution, has been increasingly dominant lately. Many people are concerned
about global warming and deteriorating air quality. Moreover, both water and oil
are valuable commodities, yet they are unevenly distributed among countries.
These issues should be addressed through cooperation between the governments of
the world because they are related to global security. In the event of the 3rd
World War on the struggle for resource-rich areas in South China Sea, for
example, it would have a broadly disastrous impact. This is a problem whose
solution must be achieved by many countries so that peace is maintained.
In conclusion, the urgent issues facing modern society are
multi-dimensional problems, and these problems are to be solved by the
individual and the state. However, the problems which relate to the interests
of many countries must be resolved through international cooperation to keep
the peace.
